MOORHEAD, Minn. – The No. 25 ranked Minnesota State University Moorhead remained undefeated at home with a 92-63 win over Southwest Minnesota State University in Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference action on Friday night.
MSUM improves to 19-4 overall and 15-2 in the NSIC while SMSU falls to 11-11 overall and 8-9 in the NSIC.
Sophomore guard
Kiley Borowicz was 7-of-10 from three-point range and finished the night with 27 points to go along with four rebounds and four assists.
Junior forward
Megan Hintz recorded another double-double with 20 points and 12 rebounds. Senior
Jacky Volkert added 16 points and a team-best six assists.
Nicole Herbranson had a career-high 10 points on the night.
The Dragons held a 48-33 lead at halftime thanks to 13 points from both Hintz and Borowicz. MSUM outrebounded SMSU 21-12 in the first half. The Dragons would enjoy a 10-point run to claim a 62-35 lead with 5:21 remaining in the third quarter. With 6:37 left in the fourth quarter, the Dragons would
see their largest lead of the night as a three-pointer from Borowicz brought the score to 89-52.
The Dragons continued to dominate the fourth quarter on their way to a 29-point win.
MSUM is back in action on Saturday at 3:30 p.m. as they face University of Sioux Falls (S.D.)
