MOORHEAD, Minn. — The Minnesota State University Moorhead women's soccer team defeated crosstown foe Concordia College 1-0 in an exhibition game held Thursday at the Nemzek Softball Field.
Sophomore
Anna Steadland, a transfer from Bemidji State, scored a goal with 22:10 left in regulation to secure the win. Freshman
Kate Weigum had the assist.
"It is great to get a game under our belt," MSUM head coach
Christie Kopietz said. "We had some very exciting moments and saw areas we need to improve. I'm very happy with the effort."
The game was played with three 30-minute halves and was tied at 0-0 after the first 60 minutes. Steadland's goal broke that tie.
Sophomore goalkeeper
Kayleigh Sedlacek played the first two halves and didn't allow a goal while senior
Kennedy Rodgers kept the Cobbers off the board in the final 30 minutes.
MSUM plays an exhibition game at Jamestown on Monday at 7 p.m.
