MOORHEAD, Minn. — The Minnesota State University Moorhead women's soccer team opens Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference play this week on the road. The Dragons will play at Minot State at 7 p.m. on Friday and then conclude the weekend on Sunday at the University of Mary for a 1 p.m. game.
MSUM finished nonconference play at 2-0-1, including a thrilling 2-1 home win over Michigan Tech last Friday.
The game with Michigan Tech was tied at 0-0 after the first half but MSUM struck with two goals in the first 6:39 of the second half to take the lead for good. Junior midfielder

Jacie Osier had goals for the dragons while Odegaard and freshman
Mckenzie Ickert had assists.
Odegaard leads MSUM with two goals, an assist and five points. Ickert and Osier each have a goal and an assist for three points, while senior midfielder
Maren Soupir has a goal and two points. Sophomore forward
Anna Steadland and senior defender
Lindsey Brownell each have an assist.
Senior
Kennedy Rodgers is 2-0 in net for MSUM with 12 saves and zero goals allowed in 135 minutes while sophomore
Kayleigh Sedlacek has 15 saves and one goal allowed in 155 minutes.
Christie Kopietz is in her fourth season as the MSUM head coach.
The opponents
Minot State
The Beavers are 0-3 on the season after losing to Montana State-Billings, 2-0 on Sept. 17. They have yet to score a goal this season. One of the losses came to Division I foe North Dakota, 8-0 on Sept. 10. Erin Rafferty has 16 saves in two games for the Beavers. Chris Clements is in his first season as the Minot State head coach.

The Marauders finished nonconference play at 2-0 with wins over Black Hills State (2-0) and Montana State-Billings (1-0). Tiffany Ohlahuser and Hannah Richter have goals for the Marauders this year while Madisyn Waltman has eight saves and two shutouts. Sarah Cook is in her eighth year as the UMary head coach.
