MOORHEAD, Minn. – The Minnesota State University Moorhead women's soccer team returns home this week to host the University of Sioux Falls at 1 p.m. on Friday and Southwest Minnesota State at 1 p.m. on Sunday. Both games are at the MSUM Soccer Field.
The Dragons are 3-0-2 overall and 1-0-1 in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference after opening the conference season on the road. MSUM beat Minot State, 1-0 on Friday and tied UMary, 0-0 on Sunday.
Junior midfielder
Jensen Odegaard leads MSUM with two goals, an assist and five points while freshman forward
Mckenzie Ickert has one goal, two assists and four points. Sophomore forward
Anna Steadland and freshman midfielder
Jacie Osier each have a goal and an assist while senior midfielder
Maren Soupir has a goal and two points. Senior defender
Lindsey Brownell has an assist. Steadland leads MSUM with nine shots, including six on goal.
Sedlacek, who was named the NSIC Goalkeeper of the Week for the second time this season, has three shutouts this season in net and is 2-0-2. She has 22 saves and a 0.25 goals allowed average. Senior goalkeeper
Kennedy Rodgers has 12 saves and a shutout this season.
Christie Kopietz is in her fourth season as the MSUM head coach.
About Sioux Falls
The Cougars are 0-4-1 overall and 0-1-1 in the NSIC after going 0-1-1 at home, losing to Wayne State 1-0 before tying Augustana, 0-0. Jaycie Dillenburg has scored a goal for USF while Lily McKown has an assist. Mckayla Philippi has four shots on goal. Alexis Wemhoff has 20 saves and a 0.42 goals allowed average while Brayden Paul has 16 saves on the year. Brittany Domino is in her fifth season as the USF head coach with a record of 15-50-11.
About SMSU
SMSU, which faces Northern State prior to facing MSUM, is 3-1 on the season. The Mustangs split at home last weekend losing to Augustana 3-1 before beating Wayne State 3-0. Erin Fisher has two goals and four points to lead SMSU while Alli Miskowiec and Alex Lotts each have one goal, two assists and four points. Six Mustangs have scored a goal this season. Amanda Haimes is 3-1 in net with 10 saves and 1.00 goals allowed average. Erin Kasmarik-Mallett is in her fifth season as SMSU's head coach with a record of 22-50-3.
