MOORHEAD, Minn. – The Minnesota State University Moorhead Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) held its Make-A-Wish night on Friday during the men's and women's basketball games and raised $2,065 for the foundation.

MSUM SAAC raised more than $900 at the game and Papa John's of Fargo-Moorhead made a generous $1,000 donation to bring the total to $1,965 which was the check presented at the men's basketball game.  A late $100 donation put the total at $2,065
The donations came by way of purchased Wish Stars and during the bleacher pass of Red Buckets. Those who still wish to donate can do so online at the link HERE.

"The MSUM fans are second to none when it comes to supporting Dragons. We are so blessed to have a community that is willing and wants to support us in all we do," MSUM SAAC co-president Jill Safranski said. "Along with that, Make-A-Wish is amazing to fund raise for as many people have personal stories from how Make-A-Wish affected them.  It is such a real and well-known organization. They truly make a difference in this world. Throughout the night, I heard many amazing stories of why they were donating to Make-A-Wish with lots of emotions behind each story. We are so thankful for our Papa John's sponsorship as well. The donation they made for Make-A-Wish is amazing and deserves a million thank yous. Once again, we are so thankful for the fans supporting our fundraiser and supporting Dragon Athletics."

This annual fundraising initiative is spearheaded by NCAA Division II and the NSIC to raise money for Make-A-Wish through various events led by SAAC. Division II has raised nearly $6 million toward granting the wishes of life-threatening medical conditions. Nearly 700 "wishes" have been granted through Division II contributions.
