Dragon Men Return Home to Host Bemidji State

The Minnesota State University Moorhead men's basketball team is back at home this weekend to host Bemidji State. Friday's game is set for 6 p.m. and Saturday's game is set for 2 p.m.

MSUM is 2-2 overall and 2-0 in the NSIC North while Bemidji State is 1-3 overall and 0-2 in the north division.

No fans will be allowed at the games this weekend.  The games will be broadcast live on the following venues:

THE SERIES

The Dragons and Beavers have met 186 times in men's basketball with the Dragons leading the series 100-86. The two teams split a year ago with the road team winning each time. 

ABOUT MSUM...

The Dragons opened NSIC North play with a pair of double-digit wins at Minnesota Crookston (91-68 on Friday and 78-62 on Saturday). Senior guard Gatdoar Kueth averaged 19.0 points per game to lead the Dragons on the weekend. 

Kueth leads MSUM at 14.8 points per game while junior guard Lorenzo McGhee and freshman guard Jacob Beeninga each average 12.8. Sophomore forward Dane Zimmer averages 11.3 points per game while junior guard Bryce Irsfeld averages 10.8. 

McGhee also averaged a team-best 6.3 rebounds per contest while Irsfeld leads at 3.9 assists per game. 

Chad Walthall is in his 11th season as the MSUM head coach with a record of 212-105. 

SCOUTING THE OPPOSITION…

BEMIDJI STATE

The Beavers were swept at home last weekend by nationally-ranked Northern State, losing 71-57 and 100-63. 

Senior forward Derek Thompson leads Bemidji State at 16.5 points and 7.8 rebounds per game while Mohamed Kone averages 10.8 points and 7.3 rebounds per game. Nick Wagner averages 10.5 points per game while Kone leads at 3.2 assists per game.

Bemidji State scores 65.2 points per game and allows 80.2. The Beavers are being outrebounded 36.5-34.0.

Mike Boschee is in his ninth season as the BSU head coach with a record of 101-124.
