MOORHEAD, Minn. — Two wins each from junior Lexie Bray and freshman Aubrey Bach helped the Minnesota State University Moorhead women's swimming and diving team earn a 143-78 win over Southwest Minnesota State in the season opener for both teams on Saturday at the Nemzek Pool.
"This team should be proud of themselves," MSUM head coach Charlie King said. "They overcame a lot of adversity to be able to compete today, and they demonstrated an amazing amount of grit and resilience. We made great improvement on executing our details when fatigued and we are very proud of every team member. It was awesome to see our upperclassmen show leadership and directing the team on deck, and we couldn't be more excited about our first years' first-ever Dragon performances."
Bach won the 200 free in 2:03.16 and added a win in the 100 free in 56.11. Arina Diah Pitaloka Bratamidjaja was second in the 100 free in 56.41 in a close race with Bach.
Bray won the 50 free in 25.81 and also claimed the 100 back in 1:02.76.
MSUM won the 200 medley relay in 1:55.68 with sophomore Kate MacGregor, sophomore Katelyn Lee, junior Katelin Winter and Bray teaming up for that win.
