MOORHEAD, Minn. -- The Minnesota State University Moorhead women's soccer team returns home for two Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference matchups this week. The Dragons host Winona State at 3 p.m. on Friday and conclude the weekend by hosting Upper Iowa at 1 p.m. on Sunday.
The Dragons are 0-13 on the season and 0-10 in the NSIC after road losses to Southwest Minnesota State (2-0) and the Sioux Falls (1-0) last week.
Freshmen forwards
Ally Peters and
Liana Ulness lead the team in goals with one each. Senior forward
Anna Steadland leads the team in shots on goal with seven.
Senior goalkeeper
Kayleigh Sedlacek has 75 saves and a 2.06 goals allowed average in net for MSUM.
Christie Kopietz is in her sixth year as head coach at Minnesota State University Moorhead.
About Winona State University
The Warriors are 4-7-1 on the season and 3-6-1 in the NSIC after beating the University of Minnesota Crookston and battling Bemidji State University to a draw last week. Senior Riley Harmon leads the team in goals with four, followed closely by seniors Missy Greco and Ella Roberts, as well as freshmen Abigail Williams and Emily Chudik with three each. Matt Kellogg is in his fourth year as head coach at Winona State.
About Upper Iowa University
The Peacocks are 6-6 on the season and 4-6 in the NSIC after a victory over Minnesota Crookston and a loss to Bemidji State last week. Junior Kate Samuels and denior Haley Ramberg lead the team in goals with three apiece, followed closely by freshmen Sami Reding and Katrina Kazluski with two each. James Price is in his sixth season as head coach at Iowa State University.
