BISMARCK, N.D. — The Minnesota State University Moorhead women's soccer team scored a goal in the final minute to cut the lead to one goal, but the comeback came up short in a 2-1 loss at UMary Friday in Bismarck, N.D.
The Dragons were down 2-0 heading into the final minute when freshman forward Liana Ulness scored her first collegiate goal with 33 seconds remaining to cut the lead to 2-1. The Dragons were unable to get the tying goal into the net and fell short, however.
"We put our effort and our heart out there for the whole 90 minutes," MSUM head coach Christie Kopietz said. "What an amazing team effort and what a moment for Liana Ulness."
The Marauders had an 11-4 edge in shots. Senior goalkeeper Kayleigh Sedlacek had three saves in the loss.
MSUM will play at Minot State at noon on Sunday to complete the weekend.
