WAYNE, Neb. — The Minnesota State University Moorhead volleyball team capped off the weekend with a 25-8, 25-20, 25-12 loss to No. 6 Wayne State on Saturday in Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference action in Wayne, Neb.
It is the fourth opponent MSUM has faced that is ranked in the top 10 this season.
The Wildcats hit .333 for the match with 46 kills compared to .050 and 21 kills for MSUM. The Dragons also committed eight service errors compared to only three for Wayne.
Junior outside hitter Amanda Carlson led MSUM with 12 kills while junior right-side hitter Teeya Doppler, who returned to playing on Friday after missing several weeks with an injury, had five.
Freshman setter Halle Erickson had 15 assists while Carlson led with two service aces.
Senior libero Sarah Petrbok had 16 digs while freshman setter Jordan Hein had nine.
Freshman middle blocker Abby Thompson had three block assists to lead the MSUM net defense.
MSUM continues on the road for its next action on Friday, Oct. 15 at Minnesota Crookston.
