MANKATO, Minn. – The Minnesota State University Moorhead volleyball team dropped a 26-24, 25-9, 25-13 contest to Minnesota State, Mankato in Northern Sun Intercollegiate conference action Friday night in Mankato, Minn.
The Dragons fell to 5-12 in the NSIC while MSU, which ended a six-match losing streak, moved to 7-10 in the league.
The Dragon hitting attack struggled, hitting .000 for the night with 21 kills and 21 errors. Junior outside hitter
Bridget Witzmann had five kills while junior outside hitter
Amanda Carlson and freshman middle blocker
Summer Salettel had four each.

Halle Erickson had nine assists while freshman setter
Kelly Klees had eight.
Sophomore defensive specialist
Brooke Walthall had a team-best 14 digs to go with three service aces. Carlson and Erickson added nine digs apiece.

Abby Thompson had one solo block and two assists.
MSUM led much of the way in the first set, and Witzmann put down a kill to put the Dragons up 24-22. But the Mavericks scored the final four points of the set to earn the 26-24 win. The Mavericks controlled the final two sets on their way to the sweep, which was their second win over MSUM this season.
The Dragons will play at No. 10 Concordia-St. Paul for a 5 p.m. match on Saturday.
