FARGO, N.D. — the Minnesota State University Moorhead women's tennis team improved to 4-0 on the season with a 7-0 win over Upper Iowa Sunday at Courts Plus in Fargo, N.D. The Dragons' three seniors, Julia Geske, Lorissa Yuen and Rachel Nguyen, were honored prior to the match as part of Senior Day.

MSUM is 4-0 overall and in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference while Upper Iowa fell to 0-2 overall and in the league.
"Our three seniors of Julia Geske, Lorissa Yuen and Rachel Nguyen had strong performances today on Senior Day to conclude a strong weekend of tennis for us," MSUM head coach Jason Thiner said. "After a tight match with Winona on Saturday, it was good to see the ladies show up and and play well today."
MSUM won the doubles point, thanks to wins at the No. 2 and No. 3 slots. At No. 2 juniors Mikaela Griechen and Miranda Griechen topped Jesse Michieli and Alejandra Abella, 6-1 while Nguyen and junior Emma Andersen picked up a 6-1 win at No. 3 doubles over Mya Herrmann and Elaina Wall.
MSUM swept all six singles matches and only lost one set on the today. Geske topped Varvara Ogorodnikova 6-4, 7-5 at No. 1 singles while Yuen beat Liani Ziani, 6-0, 6-1 at No. 2.
Nguyen survived Michieli, 4-6, 6-2, 6-4 at No. 3 singles in a hard-fought match. Mikaela Griechen, Miranda Griechen and Andersen also rolled to wins in straight sets.
MSUM will face Minnesota Duluth and St. Cloud State on Feb. 27-28 in Duluth, Minn.
