DULUTH, Minn. — The Minnesota State University Moorhead women's tennis team improved to 6-0 with a 6-1 win over St. Cloud State in Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference action Sunday in Duluth, Minn. MSUM now has won 15 matches in a row dating back to the 2020 season.
MSUM is 6-0 overall and in the NSIC while St. Cloud State fell to 1-5.
"It was a good weekend adjusting to playing against a variety of playing styles," MSUM head coach Jason Thiner said. "The ladies adjusted well to adapt to their opponents to find success in their matches."
The Dragons swept all three doubles matches to earn the team doubles point. At No. 1 seniors Julia Geske and Lorissa Yuen topped Shanna Kinny and Jill Kedrowski, 6-4 while juniors Mikaela Griechen and Miranda Griechen topped Olivia Fredrickson and Sam Fitzpatrick, 6-4 at No. 2 for the Dragons.
Junior Emma Andersen and freshman Madison Bell topped Kylee Frisbie and Emma Brunkow 6-4 at No. 3 for the Dragons.
Geske, Yuen, Mikaela Griechen, Miranda Griechen and Andersen all won in straight sets in singles to clinch the Dragon win.
MSUM's contest with North Dakota has been cancelled. The next Dragon match is March 13 at UMary.
