MOORHEAD, Minn. — The Minnesota State University Moorhead softball team will host the University of Jamestown on Wednesday in a nonconference doubleheader. Game 1 will begin at 2 p.m. at the Nemzek Softball Field.
MSUM is 2-10 on the year while Jamestown is 17-7.
Junior outfielder Jordey Smith is hitting .316 with two RBI in 19 at-bats for MSUM. Senior third baseman Emma Dummer is hitting .306 with three doubles and six RBI. Junior infielder Samantha Gjerde is hitting .286 with three doubles and four RBI. Junior Ally Helgoe leads the team with seven RBI.
As a team MSUM is hitting .226.
On the mound junior Anna Lang and freshman Reece Dahl each have a win. Both have struck out 19 batters.
Amanda Reckamp is in her third season as the MSUM head coach.

Morgan Geiszler leads Jamestown with a .481 average. She has four homers and 20 RBI and also has 10 stolen bases. Gracie Fisher is hitting .450 with 14 RBI. Sydney Prussia is hitting .444. As a team, the Jimmies are hitting .354 through 24 games. Kat Miska is 8-1 with a 0.83 ERA in 59 innings to lead Jamestown on the mound. Kevin Gall is in his 21st season as the Jamestown head coach.
