BEMIDJI, Minn. — The Minnesota State University Moorhead women's soccer team dropped a 2-1 decision to Bemidji State in action fFriday night in Bemidji, Minn.
MSUM fell to 0-4 on the spring while Bemidji State improved to 2-0.
The game was tied at 1-1 at halftime. MSUM junior goalkeeper Kayleigh Sedlacek had a free kick near midfield and scored the Dragons' goal to even the score at 1-1.
Bemidji scored a goal in the 58th minute to take a 2-1 lead and held on for the win.
Freshman goalkeeper Simone Lewald played 35 minutes and had seven saves while Sedlacek played 35 minutes and had two saves.
"I was so proud that we were able to regain our pride and put together a really good performance," MSUM head coach Christie Kopietz said.
MSUM hosts Minot State at 3 p.m. on Saturday. The seven Dragon seniors will be honored prior to the game.
