MOORHEAD, Minn — The Minnesota State University Moorhead women's soccer team wrapped up the spring by winning its tournament with Sioux Falls and Minnesota-Crookston on Saturday. MSUM beat UMC, 2-0 and then USF, 1-0. In penalty kicks in the championship game MSUM beat USF 3-2.
Senior forward Jax Wetteland had all the Dragon goals in the regulation, while senior midfielder Carly Jo Gamrath, Wetteland and junior defender Kaylee Parsons had goals on the penalty kicks.
Freshman Simone Lewald was in goal for the first game and junior Kayleigh Sedlacek played the rest of the day.
The Dragons will say goodbye to Wetteland, Gamrath, senior forward Tomomi Nishihara, senior defender Lauren Phillips, senior forward Jensen Odegaard, senior midfielder Megan Zander and senior defender Jennifer Barnes.
"Thanks so much to the senior class for all they have given to Dragon Soccer," MSUM head coach Christie Kopietz said. "To say they will be missed is an understatement."
