MOORHEAD, Minn. — The Minnesota State University Moorhead women's soccer team battled crosstown foe Concordia to a 1-1 tie on Wednesday in an exhibition contest.
MSUM went 1-0-1 in exhibition play; the Dragons will open the regular season on Sept. 1 in Aberdeen, S.D., against Nebraska-Kearney.
Senior defender Kaylee Parsons bent in a corner kick for a goal to tie the game at 1-1 after Concordia had scored earlier on a goal by Samantha Holmberg.
Sophomore goalkeeper Simone Lewald had four saves in 45 minutes of action for MSUM.
"I'm happy we responded with a lovely goal from Kaylee Parsons," MSUM head coach Christie Kopietz said. "We are looking to continue to grow as a group for our next match."
