BILLINGS, Mont. — The Minnesota State University Moorhead women's soccer team fell to Black Hills State, 4-1, in nonconference action Saturday at the Rimrock Classic in Billings, Mont.
MSUM fell to 0-3 with the loss while Black Hills State improved to 1-2.
Freshman forward Ally Peters scored her first collegiate goal at the 37:35 mark of the first half to tie the game at 1-1. However just 1:01 later Lexi Crow scored for Black Hills State to put the Yellow Jackets up for good.
Peters led MSUM with two shots on goal. Jalyn Bauer and Keely Johnston each had two shots.
Sophomore Simone Lewald had two saves in 90 minutes of action for MSUM.
"It was really awesome that Ally Peters got her first collegiate goal," MSUM head coach Christie Kopietz said. "It was not our best performances this weekend. We will be regrouping and refocusing for our conference season."
MSUM hosts Minnesota Crookston at 3 p.m. on Friday to begin Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference play.
