The Dragons were down 4-3 in the second set but scored the next eight points, sparked by a serving run by junior Brooke Walthall. Feist had two kills and a block during that run while Walthall had an ace.

The Dragons were up 16-13 but Carlson recorded a kill and two aces as part of a 5-0 run to take a 21-13 advantage, on their way to a 25-16 win.

MSUM opened the third set on a 5-0 run with Carlson serving. Minot State battled back to tie the set at 8-8 and the Dragons led 12-10 before a kill from Kallberg, a block from Carlson and Kallberg and a kill from Carlson pushed the lead to 15-10.
