FAYETTE, Iowa — The Minnesota State University Moorhead women's soccer team battled to a 1-1 tie with Upper Iowa in Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference action Sunday in Fayette, Iowa.
MSUM is now 2-8-3 overall and 2-7-3 in the NSIC while Upper Iowa is 2-9-4 overall and 1-6-4 in the league.
Grace Heying's goal at the 9:27 mark of the game put MSUM up 1-0. Lilly Johnson assisted on the goal.
Upper Iowa would tie the game at 1-1 with less than 12 minutes left and neither team would score after that.
"It was a hard-fought match. It was good to set a result on the road," MSUM head coach Christie Kopietz said.
The Peacocks outshot MSUM 22-4. Junior goalkeeper Simone Lewald had nine saves for the Dragons.
MSUM plays its final home game of 2022 on Friday against Minnesota Duluth. The game is set for 3 p.m.
