MSUM Women's Tennis Opens Busy Stretch Saturday Against Cobbers

MOORHEAD -- The Minnesota State University Moorhead tennis team will face Concordia-Moorhead on Saturday at Courts Plus in Fargo, N.D., before heading to Florida for four matches.
 
The Dragons (0-7, 0-6 NSIC) will face Quincy on Tuesday, Stevenson on Wednesday, Rhodes on Thursday, and Macalester College on Friday. 
 
The Dragons are 0-7 on the season and 0-6 in the NSIC after falling to Sioux Falls University and No. 16 ranked Augustana in their most recent action. Freshman Tia Dykema got her third win in singles competition last weekend against Sioux Falls University.
 
Dykema and senior Miranda Griechen lead MSUM with 3-4 singles marks.
 
Jason Thiner is in his second season as head coach at Minnesota State University Moorhead.  
 
About Concordia-Moorhead 
The Cobbers are 4-5 on the season and 0-4 in the NSIC after defeating Houghton, Adrian, and Regis then falling to Calvin and Carleton last week. Freshman Erin Borchard has the best singles record for the Cobbers at 3-1. Junior Emily Savageau and Freshman Mary Skorich have the best doubles record with 4-2. Zach Zitur is in his fourth season as head coach at Concordia Moorhead University.  
 
About Quincy 
The Hawks are 3-3 on the season and 1-2 in conference play after falling to Missouri Western State University last weekend. The gawks are led onto the court by Seniors Alexia Ginter, Nicole Lao, Laila Leist-Alston, Sarah Luther, Haley Milazzo, and Kori Kay Obert. Ethan Arns is in his second year as head coach at Quincy.  
 
About Stevenson 
The Mustangs are 1-2 on the season after falling to Wilkes University and Washington last weekend. The Mustangs are led back onto the court by Senior Jacquelyn Nesbeth and Junior Torrienne Emery. Evan Clifton is in his sixth year as head coach at Stevenson.  
 
About Rhodes  
The Lynx are 5-1 on the season and 1-0 in conference play after defeating Webster University and falling to Washington University last weekend. Junior Lea Letourneau holds the best singles record at 7-3, followed closely by Freshman Emma McHale with a singles record of 6-2. Seniors Dallas Bennet and Julia Darkey have the team-best doubles record at 4-0. Jenn Tinnell is in her sixth season as head coach at Rhodes.  
 
About Macalester College  
The Scots are 2-3 on the season and 1-1 in conference play after falling to St. Catherine University and the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire last weekend. The Scots are led onto the court by Seniors Hannah Lundblad and Cameron Payne. Jason Muhl is in his sixteenth season as head coach at Macalester College.
