ORLANDO, Fla. – The Minnesota State University Moorhead women's tennis team fell to Rhodes College, 7-0 in a nonconference match on Thursday in Orlando, Fla.
MSUM (3-8) saw a three-match winning streak end with the loss while Rhodes improved to 8-1.
"We ran into a tough opponent today," MSUM head coach
Jason Thiner said. "We played well.
Emma Andersen and
Miranda Griechen played really well to get our lone win at No. 1 doubles."
Seniors
Emma Andersen and
Miranda Griechen teamed up for a 7-5 win at No. 1 doubles over Michelle Adan-Poi and Emma McHale. Rhodes won at No. 2 and No. 3 doubles to earn the team point.
Miranda Griechen took her match to a third set at No. 3 singles against McHale before retiring late in the third set.
MSUM wraps up its Florida trip on Friday against Macalester.
