ASUZA, Calif – Minnesota State University Moorhead sophomores
Braxton Bruer and
Payton Lane ran personal-bests in their respective events at the Bryan Clay Invitational on Thursday in Azusa Calif.
Bruer ran a time of 1:50.l1 in the men's 800-meter run, which is the second-fastest in school history and in the top 13 in the nation. It's an NCAA qualifying time as well. Bruer's time is third-fastest in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference this season. Bruer finished 34th in the field out of 196 runners, including finishing ahead of several Division I athletes.
Payton Lane ran a personal-best in the women's 10,000-meter run at Bryan Clay. She ran a time of 37:38 and finished 21st, ahead of Division I runners from Cal State-Bakersfield and Southern Methodist. Lane's time was third-fastest in MSUM history and third fastest in the NSIC this season.
Senior
Nadir Yusuf will race in the 10,000-meter run at the Mt. SAC Relays at 11:40 p.m. Central time tonight.
A majority of the Dragon athletes competing in California will compete at the Bryan Clay Invitational on Friday, including the sprint and jumps group and pole vaulter
