WALNUT, Calif. – Minnesota State University Moorhead senior
Nadir Yusuf set a new school record and recorded an NCAA qualifying time in the 10,000 meters at the Mt. SAC Relays late Thursday night in Walnut, Calif.
Yusuf ran an NCAA qualifying time of 29:03.05 to finish fifth in the collegiate division at Mt. SAC. He finished ahead of Division I runners form Brigham Young, Colorado State, South Dakota, South Dakota State and Minnesota.
The Willmar High School graduate broke the school record of 29:12 he set in 2021.
Yusuf's time is fastest in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference this season and seventh-fastest in all of Division II.
MSUM has several athletes competing at the Bryan Clay Invitational today in Asuza, Calif.
