VERMILLION, S.D. – The Minnesota State University Moorhead track and field teams recorded four NCAA provisional qualifying performances and a win by sophomore
Braxton Bruer at the University of South Dakota Early Bird Meet, which was held at Lillibridge Track Complex in Vermillion, S.D.
Senior
Chris Cook was second in the men's high jump at 6-9 which is an NCAA provisional qualifying height and is tied for 10
th-best in the nation as of this writing.
Sophomore
Adnew Stueven was second in the 3,000-meter steeplechase in 9:12.17, which is the 11
th-best time in the national and an NCAA provisional qualifying time. He was edged by South Dakota State's Josh Becker by .05 seconds for the win.
Junior
Shyrone Kemp was second in the long jump at 23-10 1/4 which was an NCAA provisional qualifying mark.
Sophomore
Ashley Hokanson was fourth in the women's pole vault at 12-10 which was an NCAA provisional qualifying mark. As of this writing that is 10
th-best in all of Division II.
Sophomore
Braxton Bruer won the men's 800 in 1:51.93. That time ranks in the top 15 in the nation as of this writing and is just .29 seconds away from an NCAA provisional qualifying time.
MSUM's men's 4x400 relay was second in 3:14.92. That consisted of junior
Ty Dawkins, freshman
Elliott MacLennan, sophomore
Travis Joseph and sophomore
Ibrahim Oduong.
The next scheduled action for the Dragon teams is April 9 at the Al Bortke Open in Bismarck, N.D.
