DES MOINES, Iowa – The Minnesota State University Moorhead men's 4x400 relay team captured the win in the College Division at the Drake Relays on Saturday in Des Moines, Iowa.
That relay consisted of sophomore
Ibrahim Oduong, sophomore
Travis Joseph, freshman
Elliott MacLennan and junior
Ty Dawkins. It is the second Dragon men's title at Drake;
Nadir Yusuf won the 10,000 meters at Drake in 2021. The Dragon women have one title at Drake, and that came in the Distance Medley Relay in 2017.
MSUM's winning time on Saturday was 3:14.40, edging St. Mary (Kan.) by .03 seconds. Iowa Western crossed the line first but was disqualified postrace.
The 4x400 ran a season-best of 3:11.93 in the prelims on Friday which is the 10
th-best time in the nation this season.
MSUM is scheduled to host the Ron Masanz Classic on Wednesday afternoon.
