MOORHEAD, Minn. — The Minnesota State University Moorhead women's soccer team plays its first home regular games this week. The Dragons are set to host Augustana at 4 p.m. on Friday and Wayne State College at 12 p.m. on Sunday.
The Wayne State game is also Parents Day at for the Dragons.
The Dragons are 1-2 on the season and 1-1 in the NSIC after defeating Minnesota Crookston, 1-0 and falling to Bemidji State, 1-0 last weekend.
Senior Callyn Johnson leads the team in goals with one. Senior Mckenzie Ickert and junior Mason Kimble lead the team in shots on goal with 2 apiece. Junior Simone Lewald leads the team in saves with 10 while freshman Quinn Carter has a shutout.
Christie Kopietz is in her seventh season as head coach at Minnesota State University Moorhead.
Dragon Captains
Dragon Captains for 2022 are seniors Jalyn Bauer and Callyn Johnson and junior Grace Heying.
About Augustana
The Vikings are 1-3-1 on the season and 1-1 in the NSIC after defeating Concordia St. Paul and falling to Minnesota State University Mankato last weekend. Graduate student Morgan Kierstead leads the team in goals with 2, followed closely by senior Josie Arduser with 1. Junior Jillian Barkus leads the team in saves with 20. Brandon Barkus is in his 17th season as head coach at Augustana University.
About Wayne State College
The Wildcats are 0-4-1 on the season and 0-2 in the NSIC after falling to Minnesota State University Mankato and Concordia St. Paul last weekend. Sophomore Sydney Schnase, Junior Haley Hoffman, and Freshman Reagan Allen lead the team in goals with 1 apiece. Junior Sydney Truman leads the team in saves with 27. Emily Hester is in her second season as head coach at Wayne State College.
