MINOT, N.D. -- MSU Moorhead would take to the road Tuesday night and collect a valuable NSIC win over Minot State. The Dragons took the match from the Beavers in straight sets.

Minot State would extend that lead to 16-12 midway through the set as the Dragons were in need of a rally. MSUM got the stretch they needed, answering with a 5-1 run with kills from

Abby Thompson to go along with a service ace from
Emily McPhee. The run brought the Dragons even with the Beavers, 17 all. Trailing 20-19, MSUM would close the set on a 6-2 run with spikes from
Tori Thompson,
Raiah Mandell and
Bridget Witzmann. The Dragons won the first frame 25-22
The second set would begin with a run from each team as Minot State would grab another early lead, 4-0. MSUM would respond with a 5-0 run thanks to four consecutive errors from the Beavers. A kill from Witzmann and a service ace from
Karlee Luneckas would bring the Dragons a 12-10 lead. The Dragons would command the pace from there, going a 6-2 run thanks to a pair of kills from Witzmann. While Minot State would bring the score to within two late in the set, a pair of Beaver errors sealed their fate in the frame. MSUM took set two 25-21.
MSUM would begin the third set with hopes of a straight sets win, claiming an early 11-9 advantage. Minot State would remain within reach throughout the set with the Dragons largest lead being just four points. Back-to-back kills from
