MOORHEAD, Minn. -- MSU Moorhead men's basketball continues to rise in national polls as the Dragons enter the fourth week of the season. MSUM has moved into the seventh spot in the most recent NABC coaches' poll.
The Dragons commanded 304 points in the poll as defending national champion Nova Southeastern continued to top the poll with 400 points. MSUM is coming off a pair of road non-conference wins this past weekend against Northern Michigan and Michigan Tech.
Tim Bergstraser's club was ranked ninth in the NABC poll a week ago after being unranked in the initial preseason coaches' poll.
MSUM is the highest ranked team in the NSIC as Minnesota State came in just behind the Dragons at number nine. Other NSIC foes in the poll this week include Minnesota Duluth (13), Winona State (RV) and Southwest Minnesota State (RV).
The Dragons begin conference play this week with a trip to Northern State on Thursday night. MSUM hosts the University of Mary on Saturday in their home opener from Nemzek Fieldhouse.
