Gavin Baumgartner and sophomore
Jacob Beeninga have been named to the All-NSIC First Team.
Lorenzo McGhee was named to the All-NSIC Second Team.
Baumgartner has scored 343 total points so far this season for a 13.4 per game average. The senior has also tallied 4.7 rebounds and 4.3 assists per contest for the Dragons. The wing has made 44.4 percent of his shots from the field this season including a 39.2 percent mark from three-point range. It is Baumgartner's third time being named All-NSIC, having been named to the first team in 2019-20 and to the second team in 2021-22.Â
Beeninga currently leads the Dragons in points per game with 17.3 and a career-high 485 total points. The sophomore also averages 4.1 rebounds per game for MSUM with a total of 43 steals so far this season. Beeninga has made 41.1 percent of his shots this season with a 37.2 percent clip from long distance. The honor is Beeninga's first trip to an all-conference team in his career.Â
The senior McGhee has averaged 15.5 points per game so far this season with 434 total points. McGhee has shot 47.5 percent from the field in 2022-23 and 75 percent from the charity stripe. He has 143 total rebounds so far this season to average 5.1 per contest. In his three years at MSUM. McGhee has been deemed an all-conference performer all three seasons. McGhee is a two-time All-NSIC First Team Selection and was named the conference's Newcomer of the Year in 2020-21.Â
MSUM opens up play in the NSIC Men's Basketball Tournament on Sunday with a 7 p.m. quarterfinal game with Sioux Falls.Â
