MOORHEAD, Minn. -- Minnesota Duluth shot 57.6 percent for the game including a 46.7 percent mark from three as the Bulldogs defeated MSU Moorhead 87-69.
The Bulldogs would shoot an unreal 59.4 percent from the field in the first 20 minutes, Charlie Katona contributed 21 of UMD's 43 points in the half with UMD leading 43-24 at halftime. The Dragons led for a total of 26 seconds in the first half, shooting just 27.3 percent for the frame. This included a 15.4 percent mark from long range.
While MSUM would improve their percentage in the second half to 48.1 percent, the Bulldogs seemingly could not miss. Duluth netted 55.6 percent of their shots in the final 20 minutes, mirroring that percentage from long range as well. Katona finished with a game-high 30 points on 12 of 14 shooting. Three other Bulldogs scored in double figures.

Lorenzo McGhee with 15 points. The senior has now scored 933 career points in his Dragon career.
Logan Kinsey collected his first career double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds.Â

The Dragons are now 5-6 against Minnesota Duluth since former Dragon's assistant Justin Wieck took over the helm. During the five seasons against Wieck, the Dragons own one sweep, have gotten swept twice (in the regular season), there have been two splits (including this season), and the Dragons beat the Bulldogs in last season's NSIC tournament title game.
