MOORHEAD, Minn. -- The MSU Moorhead men's basketball team will travel to Maryville, Mo., to compete against Southern Nazarene University at 8:15 pm on Saturday. This matchup will be the first round of the NCAA Central Region Tournament. 

MSUM is the fourth seed at the tournament with Southern Nazarene tabbed as the fifth seed. The Dragons were ranked 22nd in this week's NABC Coaches' Poll. 
            
The Dragons are 25-6 on the season and 17-5 against NSIC opponents after defeating the University of Sioux Falls, Bemidji State, and Minnesota Duluth last weekend to claim the NSIC Tournament Championship.

Sophomore Jacob Beeninga leads the team in points per game with 17.7. Beeninga also leads the team in steals per game with 1.5. Senior Gavin Baumgartner leads the team in assists per game with 4.3. Junior Dane Zimmer leads the team in rebounds per game with 8.7. Zimmer also leads the team in blocks per game with one. Each of those three players were named to the NSIC's All-Tournament team.  
            
Tim Bergstraser is in his first season as head coach at Minnesota State University Moorhead.
