VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – MSU Moorhead track & field wrapped up the final day at the NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships with five All-Americans.
Braxton Bruer and
Shyrone Kemp joined
Ashley Hokanson,
Robynn Rolle-Curry and
Jared Gregoire on the All-American list Saturday.
All five Dragons who competed at this weekend's NCAA Championships earned All-American distinction. To date, that is the most indoor All-Americans in
Ryan Milner's tenure with MSUM track & field. It is the most individual (not including relays) indoor All-Americans in the Division II era and most since 1991 when MSUM was NAIA.
"Overall we had a solid championship weekend," said head coach
Ryan Milner. "Our athletes performed well and gained experience that will be valuable this outdoor season and at future championships."
Jumps
Shyrone Kemp placed fifth in the triple jump to earn First Team All-American honors. Kemp had a top leap of 49'-11.75" to earn the distinction. In total, it is Kemp's third All-America honor in the indoor triple jump.
Middle Distance
Following a protest of a collision that took place in yesterday's preliminaries, two runners were added to the 800m final to bring the number of competitors to 10.
Braxton Bruer ran a 1:56.09 to place 10
th in the final. Bruer garnered Second Team All-American honors for the effort, the first All-American distinction of his career.

The Dragon track & field teams will now begin preparation for the outdoor season. MSUM's first outdoor meet will be the Al Bortke Open in Bismarck on April 1.
