MOORHEAD, Minn. -- MSUM tennis will compete in four match over the next week, highlighted by a pair of matches in California. The Dragons will play Concordia University (Calif.) on Monday before taking on Mt. San Jacinto College on Thursday.
The matches are scheduled to take place at 2 p.m. and 12 p.m. Central Time respectively. Following the match Thursday, the Dragons will travel to Bismarck, N.D., for Saturday-Sunday dates with Augustana (1 p.m.) and Sioux Falls (9 a.m.).Â
MSUM has not competed since February 26 where the fell to to Minnesota Duluth 4-3. The loss came as part of a grueling three-day stretch that saw MSUM defeat St. Cloud State (4-3) and Gustavus Adolphus (4-3) on Saturday before falling to the Bulldogs.Â
On that weekend,
Shaelyn Johnson went undefeated across singles and doubles play for the Dragons. Johnson has tallied a 4-1 record so far this spring in singles and a 4-1 record in doubles alongside
Tia Dykema.
Tiannah Gu also features a 4-1 record for MSUM so far this spring with
Madison Bell registering a 3-2 mark. The team of
Claire Nemmers and
Marissa Burian have began the spring with a 3-1 doubles record for the Dragons. MSUM has collected the team doubles point in three of their first five matches this spring as well.Â
Alexis Konecne is in her first season as head coach of Dragon tennis.Â
