MANKATO, Minn. – MSU Moorhead swimming & diving would put together some strong swims, but fell in the 2023-24 dual finale to Minnesota State, 171-79.
Beginning the dual with the 200-yard medley relay, the Dragon contingent of
Lacie Stark,
Linnea Edgren,
Ruth Pavelski and
Sophia Verke would claim fourth place with a 1:52.22 time. In the dual's final event, the 200-yard freestyle relay, MSUM's team of Stark,
Joanna Phillips,
Taylor Cook and
Lily Lengerich would finish runner-up with a time of 1:45.13.
Cami Mayo would put together some strong swims throughout the afternoon, led by her 11:09.26 in the 1000-yard freestyle for a runner-up finish. Mayo would also finish runner-up in the 200-yard fly with a mark of 2:19.56. To close Mayo's day, she would once again finish runner-up, this time in the 500-yard freestyle with a mark of 5:36.64.
Sophia Verke would place third in the 200-yard freestyle, clocking a sub-two minute mark at 1:59.28. Verke would earn a runner-up finish in the 100-yard freestyle later in the dual with a time of 54.45 as
Demi-Lee Carlisle came in just behind Verke in the race with a time of 55.68. Carlisle would place fifth in the 50-yard freestyle with a 25.55 clip.
Lacie Stark would finish second in the 200-yard backstroke with a mark of 2:17.35 with
Kelsey Jackson finishing behind Stark with a time of 2:23.37.
Linnea Edgren would earn second place in the 200-yard breaststroke, registering a time of 2:40.27. Edgren would also place second in the 200-yard IM, touching the wall at 2:25.25. Finally, freshman
Ruth Pavelski would place runner-up in the 100-yard fly with a time of 1:00.61.
