GRAND FORKS, N.D. – MSU Moorhead track & field enjoyed another successful weekend as senior
Ibrahim Oduong reset the MSUM indoor 400m record and
Ashley Hokanson moved to 3-0 in pole vault competition at the UND Open.
Shyrone Kemp owns the nation's top triple jump as well following his Saturday performance.
Sprints/Hurdles
Ibrahim Oduong stole the show for the Dragons in the men's 400m dash. The senior clocked a school record time of 47.44 to finish runner-up in the race. Oduong's record bests the previous MSUM record set by Dragon great Derek Bredy in 2013. The time would have been a facility record had it not been for Mary's Raheem Taitt-Best, who finished ahead of Oduong with a mark of 47.39.
Hunter Miller would register a new season-best in the 60m hurdle preliminaries with a mark of 9.12. In the men's 60m dash,
David Daniels (6.96) and
Jerome Crayton (7.08) would qualify for the event final with Crayton's mark being a new personal-best. Daniels finished third in the finals heat with a 6.98 time.
Shavantae Roberts would place fourth in the same race on the women's side with a 7.78 finals time. Crayton would win the 200m later in the day with a 22.02, another indoor personal-best for the senior.
Jumps/Vaults
In women's pole vault,
Ashley Hokanson would add another win to her total with a top clearance of 12-11.5 (3.95m).
Shyrone Kemp owned the triple jump competition in Grand Forks, turning in a 51-06.5 (15.71m) to win the event running away. The jump is the best in Division II this season and is also an NCAA provisional mark for the senior.
Tyler Missick would finish third in men's high jump with a top height of 6-04.75 (1.95m).
David Daniels would lead MSUM in the men's long jump with a top leap of 22-09.25 (6.94m) to finish third overall.
Latrell Taylor would notch a 21-02 (6.48m) in the same event. In men's pole vault,
Nicholas Huss would earn a fourth-place finish with a top clearance of 13-05.25 (4.10m).
