About the Dragons

The Dragons (1-12-2, 1-9-1), will look to grab a victory in their last two home matches of the season. The Dragons dropped their only match last week on the road to a very tough ninth-ranked Minnesota State team. Freshman midfielder Madalynn Hopkins had a solid game, tallying four shots on goal in only 40 minutes played. Fellow freshman midfielder Mary Cox, as well as sophomore forward Izabela Flores also put a shot on goal in the match.

Dragon statistics for the year are as follows: 5 goals, 91 shots (6.1 shots per match), 41 shots on goal (.451 shots on goal percentage), 5 assists and 126 saves. MSUM is currently fifth in the nation with 126 total saves this season.

Upper-class Underline

Before the last home weekend of the season, here is a 2024 highlight of all the Dragon upperclassmen.
The Dragons are led by first-year head coach Scott Forster.

About Southwest Minnesota State

The Mustangs (1-12-2, 1-8-2 NSIC) are coming off of a pretty decent week in NSIC play. They played very well against one of the best teams in the NSIC in St. Cloud State. They dropped that match 1-0, however, they hung tough, and their defense was stiff. They also had a late 1-0 lead against Minnesota Duluth, but the Bulldogs would score a late goal to force a 1-1 draw. In that match sophomore midfielder Malorie Maderak scored the goal for the Mustangs, and that put her into second place on her team in goals, totaling two on the season. Junior forward Haley Mason is also dangerous, leading the Mustangs in goals this year with three, and she also has 16 shots on goal, which also leads the team.

The Mustang 2024 statistics are as follows: 9 goals, 112 shots (7.5 shots per match), 76 shots on goal (.679 shots on goal percentage), 3 assists and 118 saves.

The Mustangs are led by third-year head coach Clay Glasgow.

Scouting Augustana

The Vikings (8-4-3, 7-2-2 NSIC), come into this week as one of the best teams in the NSIC. Last week they blanked Minnesota Crookston in a 3-0 victory, and then they fought for a 1-1 draw against Bemidji State. Against Minnesota Crookston the Vikings tallied 10 shots on goal while holding the Golden Eagles to just one shot on goal in the match. In their showdown with Bemidji State, the Vikings trailed for most of the match, but they put one in the back of the net in the 59th minute to earn the 1-1 draw. A player to watch on the Vikings is sophomore forward Madelyn White. She is all over the stat sheet for the Vikings, totaling three goals and four assists this season.

The Viking statistics for the season are as follows: 19 goals, 193 shots (12.9 shots per match), 91 shots on goal (.472 shots on goal percentage), 17 assists and 57 saves.

The Vikings are led by 19th-year head coach Brandon Barkus.
