SIOUX FALLS, S.D. -- MSU Moorhead tennis fell to the Sioux Falls Cougars in NSIC action on Friday evening. The Cougars defeated the Dragons, 6-1. 

The Cougars would win two of three doubles matches to begin the dual as the Dragons would own the number two spot in pairs play. The team of Madison Bell and Tiannah Gu would collect their sixth doubles win of the season with a 6-2 win over Sydney Osburn and Ella Hancock. Gu would be the lone MSUM player to win in singles action as the sophomore commanded her number three match. She would go on to defeat USF's Dani Thorfinnson in straight sets, 6-1, 6-2. For Gu, it is her seventh singles win of the year with six of those victories coming at the number three position. 

In number two singles action, senior Shaelyn Johnson was embroiled in a tough matchup with Chloe Sigfort. Sigfort would take the first set 7-5 behind a 7-3 tiebreaker victory. Following the long set, Johnson would rally back to win 7-5 with a deciding third set needed. Sifgort would eventually take the final set by a 10-4 count. Luzmary Diaz Castillo had a hard-fought matchup in number one singles with Talia Janos, but fell in straight sets (6-2, 6-4).
