All three Dragons were named Second Team All-NSIC.

BURNSVILLE, Minn. -- MSU Moorhead sophomore Tiannah Gu has been named Second Team All-NSIC for singles while the pairing of Shaelyn Johnson and Luzmary Diaz Castillo earned Second Team All-NSIC doubles distinction.

Gu enjoyed a solid season for the Dragons, working towards a 10-10 overall record (including fall competition). The sophomore from West Fargo, N.D., was notably strong in NSIC competition, holding a 6-3 singles mark in conference play. Gu played all but three matches at the number three position for the Dragons in 2024, enjoying a 9-5 overall record in that spot. She would finish the season winning seven of her final eight singles matches and her 10 wins led MSUM in 2024. For Gu, it is the first All-NSIC nod of her career.

Johnson and Diaz Castillo were perhaps one of the most consistent pairings in NSIC play this season. The duo held a 10-6 overall record in 2024 which included an impressive 7-2 ledger in NSIC doubles play. Johnson, a senior from Grand Forks, N.D., and Diaz Castillo, a sophomore from Maracay, Venezuela, played in the number one position in 16 matches in 2024. They concluded the season winning three of their last four doubles matches with their 10 wins being a team-high. It is Diaz Castillo's first time being named all-conference after transferring in at semester break for MSUM. With the bid, Johnson earns her third consecutive All-NSIC honor in doubles play dating back to her time at Bemidji State in 2021-22. The senior was Second Team All-NSIC in doubles last season alongside partner Tia Dykema

MSUM finished the season with an 8-10 overall record in dual competition with a 4-5 mark in NSIC play. The Dragons qualified for the NSIC Tennis Tournament for the first time since the 2020-21 season in 2023-24.
