MSUM Wraps Competition at Cobber Indoor Open

MOORHEAD, Minn. – MSU Moorhead track & field saw field events take center stage at the Cobber Indoor Open on Saturday. The Dragons sent a small contingent to the meet with solid outings all around. 
 
Sprints/Relays/Hurdles
 
Adla Serrao would see a runner-up finish in the women's 60m hurdles, clocking a 9.65. In the women's 60m, Brihonne Cargill (8.05), Nevaeh Coffer (8.12) and Jazmin Barry (8.15) would all qualify for the event's finals. Tylah Pratt nearly missed qualification, marking an 8.24 time. Barry would earn a runner-up finish in the event finals with a time of 8.11. Cargill would place second in the 200m with a time of 27.69. 

In the 4x200m relay, the Dragon team of Cargill, Coffer, Pratt and Barry would finish runner-up with a time of 1:48.59. 
 
Jumps/Vaults
 
Women's long jump would see McKenna Schreiber claim an event win with a leap of 16-05 (5.00m). Ayden Ochs would place third in the same event, registering a 14-10 (4.52m) mark. In men's triple jump, Kade Larson would leap 41-10.75 (12.77m) to place fourth. 
 
Noah Novotny would win men's pole vault with a top clearance of 13-08.25 (4.17m). Novotny tied for the top height but claimed the event win with less failures. Nicholas Huss would place third with a vault of 13-02.25 (4.02m). Multi-man Hunter Miller would collect a personal best in the same event, vaulting 12-08.25 (3.87m) to finish fourth. 
 
Leya Teicher would finish runner-up in women's pole vault, clearing 10-08.75 (3.27m) which was the winning height. However, Teicher featured more failures on her ledger. Katelyn Utecht would place fourth in the same event with a top vault of 9-09 (2.97m). 
 
Throws
 
A trio of Dragon men would reset personal bests in men's weight throw. Freshman Jack Stewart led the way, placing fourth with a throw of 46-0.5 (14.03m). Landon Nicholas would place just behind Stewart in fifth with a toss of 44-11.5 (13.70m). Ben Nyreen would also set a personal best with a throw of 41-08.75 (12.72m). 
 
In women's shot put, Kiley Kranz would be the top Dragon finisher, marking a top throw of 38-04.25 (11.69m). The throw would earn Kranz a sixth-place finish in the event overall. Kranz also placed eighth in the weight throw with a toss of 42-05.5 (12.94m) with Katelyn Zaiger finishing in ninth with a throw of 42-02 (12.85m). Codi Bunting would place 12th in the same event with a mark of 40-02.25 (12.25m).

The Dragons get set for the UND Open in Grand Forks, N.D. with the meet set for Saturday, February 1.
