MOORHEAD, Minn. -- MSU Moorhead wrestling will look to continue its recent hot streak this weekend in a pair of NSIC duals. The Dragons travel to dual (RV) Sioux Falls on Friday at 7 p.m. before hosting 11th-ranked UMary on Sunday at 2 p.m.

Clayson Mele earning a win via forfeit at 125 pounds against the Cobbers,
Ryan Henningson took center stage for the Dragons. Henningson looked sharp again against Concordia's Kie Anderson, scoring 10 points in the first period thanks to two takedowns and a four-point near fall. The senior would tally up another takedown as well as a four-point near fall to secure a 17-1 technical fall.
Pedro Velazquez would be embroiled in a spirited match at 141 pounds with Division III All-American Ty Bisek. Velazquez trailed 7-0 heading into the final period before scoring seven points in the final frame. However, Bisek, who is currently ranked in the top 15 in the country (Division III) scored a reversal and a ride time bonus point to narrowly win, 10-7.
Cody Wienen would get the Dragons back on the team scoreboard with a major decision at 149 pounds. Wienen secured a takedown and a four-point near fall in the first period in the 11-3 win.
Jacob Thomas would need overtime in his 165-pound bout with Elijah Hunt. Each competitor scored an escape through three periods, sending the contest into a sudden victory scenario. Thomas would secure the needed takedown to win, 4-1.
At 174 pounds,
Mason Gode was dominant against Zach Pribyl. Gode scored two takedowns and a two-point near fall in the first period. He would follow that up with another takedown and a four-point near fall in the second frame. It was not long after until Gode pinned Pribyl at 4:04.
Wyatt Powell would showcase his offense at 184 pounds, scoring three takedowns, a four-point near fall and a ride time bonus point. Powell would defeat Brody Duke by major decision, 17-7.

Anthony Sykora leads the Dragons with 19 wins so far this season, followed closely by heavyweight
Liam Babitt with 17. Babitt also features a team-best eight wins via fall this season. Mele (15), Gode (13),
Damon Ferguson (12),
Thomas Carrillo (11) and
Isaiah Huus (10) have all logged 10 or more wins for the Dragons this season. Ferguson leads the team with four wins via technical fall. Sykora, Ferguson, Babitt and Velazquez all hold a team-best three major decisions on their ledgers this season.
