Moorhead Soccer Overwhelmed by Bemidji State

MOORHEAD, Minn. -- Minnesota State Moorhead soccer fell victim to an offensive explosion from visiting Bemidji State on Sunday afternoon in NSIC action. The Beavers overwhelmed the Dragons, 8-0. 

Senior keeper Rylee Truslow would be tested early in the match with the Beavers placing shots on goal in the sixth and 13th minutes. After another shot on net just after the 20-minute mark, the Beavers would score first at 22:26. The Beavers would continue to fire off shots on Truslow as she would make five saves following the first Beaver score. Bemidji State would score again before the halftime break, netting a score at 40:11. Moorhead trailed by two goals after 45 minutes with the Dragons logging two total shots in the half. 

The Beavers were quick to their offense in the second half, scoring a goal at 46:07 to take a 3-0 advantage. Truslow would stop four more shots before the visitors struck again, scoring at 62:46 to lead, 4-0. Madalynn Hopkins would have a shot on net in the 66th minute that was stalled by Beaver keeper Anna Steadman. Bemidji State would swiftly respond, scoring goals at 67:43 and 71:09 to lead by six scores. The Beavers would score two more goals late in the match to claim an 8-0 result. Truslow made a career-high 13 saves for the Dragons.

MSUM (3-9-1, 2-8 NSIC) is back on Nemzek Soccer Field next weekend for the final two home games of the 2025 season. Moorhead will begin the weekend in a 3 p.m. match against St. Cloud State on Friday, October 24.
