Roberts Clocks New 200m Record at UND Open

GRAND FORKS, N.D. – Shavantae Roberts would clock a new MSUM school record in the 200m to lead the Dragons at the UND Open on Saturday. 
 
Sprints/Hurdles/Relays
 
Adla Serrao would qualify for the women's 60m hurdle finals with a mark of 9.61. Serrao would place sixth in the finals with a 9.69 mark. Hunter Miller would qualify for the finals on the men's side, eventually placing second overall behind a 8.75 mark. 
 
Shavantae Roberts would win the preliminary heats of the 60m dash, marking a 7.56 time. Roberts would eventually win the final as well, finishing with an impressive 7.51 mark. On the men's side, both Austin Weite (7.12) and David Daniels (7.13) would qualify for the finals. The pair would finish fifth and sixth in the event's finals. 
 
Roberts would later break the MSUM school record in the 200m, clocking a 24.45 to place third. The time builds on Roberts' NCAA provisional mark and is now in the top-20 in the nation. 
 
In the women's 400m, Liv Birkeland would collect a personal best of 1:01.41. Ibrahim Oduong would narrowly miss an NCAA provisional time, clocking a 48.59 to place third overall. 
 
The Dragon men's 4x400m team would wrap the meet with a win as the team of Oduong, Manjot Singh, Frosty Wisnewski and Jasiah Hambira would clock a 3:20.77. MSUM's women's team of Birkeland, Christen, Jazmin Barry and Brihonne Cargill would place third with a time of 4:17.16. 
 
Jumps/Vaults
 
Jaiden Peraza led the Dragons in men's long jump, finishing 10th with a mark of 20-09 (6.32m). Hunter Miller would earn a personal best in the same event, marking a 20-06.5 (6.26m) to finish 11th. David Daniels would place 12th with a mark 20-05 (6.22m). In men's pole vault, Noah Novotny would claim a third-place finish with a 13-02.25 (4.10m) height. 
 
Peraza would clear 6-08.75 (2.05m) to win men's high jump with teammate Jasiah Hambira placing third with a mark of 6-06.75 (2.00m). Hunter Petersen would see a personal best in women's high jump, marking a 5-03 (1.60m) clearance. Tylah Pratt would finish behind Petersen with a clearing of 4-11 (1.50m). 
 
Pratt would finish sixth in long jump with a top mark of 17-08.25 (5.40m). Jazmin Barry would be the top Dragon in the event, placing third behind a leap of 18-11.75 (5.78m). Kade Larson would place seventh in men's triple jump with a leap of 41-02.25 (12.55m). Leya Teicher would lead MSUM in women's pole vault, clearing 10-04 (3.15m) to finish third overall. 
 
Throws
 
Codi Bunting led the Dragon women in weight throw, hurling a 40-0 (12.19m) with Katelyn Zaiger right behind her at 39-09.25 (12.12m). In men's weight throw, Jack Stewart would finish eighth with a mark of 49-01.75 (14.98m). Ben Nyreen would finish 12th in the same event with a throw of 45-09.75 (13.96m). 
 
In women's shot put, Kiley Kranz would place seventh with a top toss of 38-9 (11.81m). 
 
Distance
 
Abbie Christen would earn a personal best in the mile run, clocking a 5:22.58 to place 12th overall. Colin O'Farrell (4:18.29) would be MSUM's top finisher on the men's side. Manjot Singh would be MSUM's top 800m runner, placing seventh behind a time of 2:00.92. 
 
Christen would also earn a personal best in the 1000m, placing third with a time of 3:05.97. O'Farrell (2:31.90) would be the top finisher on the men's side again, placing fourth. Rory Richardson (2:35.33) and Salman Mohamed (2:35.51) would finish eighth and ninth respectively.

The Dragons will now prep for the annual Bison Open in Fargo, N.D. which takes place on Friday, February 7 until Saturday, February 8.
