MSUM Softball Plays at 2025 Dome Invitational

MOORHEAD, Minn. -- MSU Moorhead softball will return to competition this week as part of the 2025 Dome Invitational hosted by Lewis University. The Dragons will play six games across three days in Rosemont, Ill.

The Dragons begin the week with games against Purdue Northwest and Grand Valley State on Thursday beginning at 11 a.m. MSUM will play two games on Friday against Upper Iowa and Hillsdale College before wrapping the weekend against Parkside and Truman State on Saturday.

MSUM has not competed since the February 7-9 as part of the West Texas Invitational in Canyon, Texas. The Dragons won one of five games at the tournament, collecting a 13-5 run rule win over Eastern New Mexico to close out the weekend. 

Senior Avery Steffen and Annika Norman lead the Dragon bats so far this season with Steffen hitting for a .474 average and Norman a .444 mark. Norman had a four-hit game to close the West Texas Invitational and has 16 hits overall this season. Steffen leads the team with 18 hits as well as 11 stolen bases in 2025. Lexie Wilson has drive in eight runs to lead the roster while Steffen has scored 12 times. 

In the circle, Steffen has also led the Dragons, holding a 3.78 ERA in 29.2 innings pitched. Steffen has 31 strikeouts so far this season and has held opposing batters to a .256 average at the dish. Sophomore Teagan Clemmons has pitched 17.1 innings for the Dragons with 13 strikeouts. In the field, five Dragons have perfect 1.000 fielding percentages, including Steffen and freshmen Jessie Henry, Bella Hess and Hailey Thurber.
