MOORHEAD, Minn. -- MSU Moorhead tennis embarks on NSIC play this weekend in Mandan, N.D. The Dragons take on Minnesota State on Saturday at 4:30 p.m. before battling Winona State on Sunday at 9 a.m.

MSUM would dominate doubles play as the pairing ofÂ
Shaelyn Johnson andÂ
Luzmary Diaz Castillo would get the Dragons started in the number one position. The tandem defeated Concordia's Anna Hacker and Emma Farder by a 6-2 result.Â
Tiannah Gu andÂ
Katryna Hansen would see an identical score in their number two match with Annalise Skrade and Ava Lowman. The Dragons would sweep pairs play and earn the team point afterÂ
Sophia Felderman andÂ
Claire Nemmers defeated Isabelle Smith and Claire Kimman, 6-4.Â
Johnson would continue her strong day with a number one singles win with a 6-1, 6-0 straight sets victory over Hacker. Diaz Castillo would sweep through her singles tilt with Farder, winning 6-0, 6-0. Hansen would rally in the number three position after winning the first set 7-5 and falling in the second set, 6-3. Hansen was dominant to close out the match, defeating Skrade, 10-1, in the deciding third set. Felderman would add a win to her ledger in straight sets over Lowman (6-3, 6-0). Gu and Nemmers would complete the Dragon sweep with a pair of 6-1, 6-1 straight set victories in the number five and six spots.Â
For her efforts last week against the Cobbers, Johnson was named the NSIC's Player of the Week.
Alexis Konecne is in her third season as MSUM's head tennis coach.Â
