MOORHEAD, Minn. -- MSU Moorhead men's basketball used a sound defensive effort and steady offense from
Jacob Jennissen and
Logan Kinsey to defeat the University of Mary on Saturday. The Dragons beat the Marauders, 76-58.
Inside The Game
- The Dragons would come out of the gates hot, building a lead as large as 12 points early after five points from Logan Kinsey.
- MSUM would eventually balloon their lead to 18 points (28-10) with under seven minutes to go in the first half.
- At the break, MSUM led 39-22 thanks to 12 points from Jacob Jennissen and eight from Kinsey.
- Mary would not give in despite the large deficit, using physical defense to try and get back into the game.
- The Marauders would whittle the Dragon lead down to one point (49-48) midway through the second half.
- After a timeout, MSUM responded with a 11-0 run with baskets from Jennissen, Kinsey and Carson Johnson.
- MSUM would keep command of the game from there, not letting the Marauders come within single digits down the stretch.
- The Dragons would claim a 76-58 victory with Kinsey netting 23 points.
- Jennissen was strong all afternoon, scoring 22 points with 11 rebounds and three blocks.
