MSUM opened conference action last weekend against eighth-ranked Augustana and Minnesota State. The Vikings and Mavericks were able to capture wins in all four games. However, the Dragons would battle the Mavericks last Saturday, pushing game one to 11 innings, but eventually falling 8-5.

Fellow senior Annika Norman has been a key run producer for the Dragons so far this season, having knocked in 18 runs to lead the team. Norman is not far behind Steffen in the average category either, smacking for a .366 average with 34 total hits. Both seniors have hit for seven doubles apiece and a combined six triples. Steffen also leads MSUM on the basepaths, stealing 17 bases in 21 attempts so far this year.

Junior catcher Teagan Pranchke has also been solid at the plate this season, hitting for a .333 average with 21 hits and six RBIs. Seniors Natalie Gonzalez and Eliya Johnson have also been sturdy, combining for 46 hits, 22 RBIs and four home runs. Johnson leads the roster with three round trippers this season.

Sophomore Teagan Clemmons has proved to be the workhorse in the circle for MSUM so far this season, slinging 64.2 innings with a 4.55 ERA. Clemmons has struck out 59 batters compared to just 24 walks. Steffen has also seen time in the circle with 60 innings pitched and a team-best 62 strikeouts so far in 2025. Freshmen Bella Hess and Isabel Rodriguez have also seen time in the circle, combining for 38.1 innings this season with 18 strikeouts.

Five Dragons offer up a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage in freshmen Hess, Rodriguez, Kayla Kraft and Jessie Henry as well as junior Brynna Farman. As a team, MSUM holds a .951 fielding percentage on the season with 39 total errors.
