SMITHVILLE, Mo. – MSU Moorhead golf saw a eight-stroke improvement from its day one score on day two of the NSIC Golf Championships.
The Dragons sit in 12th place as a team at the tournament with a 36-hole score of 718. MSUM shot a collective 355 on Saturday.
Erin Summerbell would lead the Dragon improvement on day two, shooting an 85 in her second round to improve by six strokes. Summerbell turned in five pars and a birdie in the round for the Dragons. The senior earned the impressive one-under marks on the par-four 12th hole at Paradise Pointe Golf Complex, which spanned 325 yards.
Halle Balluff would also see an improved score on day two, shaving five strokes off her Friday score for an 87 overall. Balluff had five pars in the round with three coming on par-three holes.
Aspen Beyer would card a 91 in her second round for the Dragons, knocking in five pars as well. The freshman would have a string of three straight even scores to begin her back nine.
Regan Braun would break into the scoring for MSUM after improving by eight strokes to pencil in a 92 for round two. Braun was relatively steady all day, holing eight total pars.
Karlee Luneckas would shoot a 105 on day two with a par in the round.
The final round of the NSIC Golf Championships begin tomorrow at 9 a.m.
