GRAND FORKS, N.D. -- Minnesota State Moorhead tennis opened the 2026 spring campaign on Saturday evening in non-conference action versus Minnesota Crookston. The Golden Eagles defeated the Dragons 6-1.
The Golden Eagles would earn the doubles point thanks to two wins in three matches. The Dragon team of
Luzmary Diaz Castillo and
Sophia Felderman would win their number one matchup. Diaz Castillo and Felderman defeated Daniela de Lucas Rivera and Terez Drasilova 7-5 for their first win as a pair. Diaz Castillo would earn a team point for Moorhead in singles action. The senior controlled her match with de Lucas Rivera at the number one position, winning in straight sets 6-2, 6-1.
Felderman would start hot in number three singles versus Drasilova, winning the first set 6-2. Drasilova would rally back from there, securing victories in the final two sets to win the match.
