MOORHEAD, Minn. – Minnesota State Moorhead men's basketball earned a massive conference victory to wrap the 2025-26 home slate on Thursday. The Dragons handled Bemidji State, 85-65.
How It Happened
- Moorhead would open the game on a strong run, using early three-pointers from Eddie Beeninga, Isa El-Amin and Sam Hastreiter to lead 15-4.
- The Beavers would respond, coming back within four points with just over 13 minutes to play in the first half.
- Solid paint play from Adam Jenkins would keep the Dragons in front by three points midway through the half.
- Kabine Kaba and Landin Hacker would get hot from there, helping push MSUM to a 13-point lead.
- Moorhead would own the latter half of the period, holding a 46-27 advantage at the break thanks to 11 points from El-Amin.
- As the second half began, Bemidji State would chip into the deficit, but Moorhead would still control the game.
- A crafty driving lay-up from Dominic Gooden kept the Dragons in front by 16 points with 13 minutes to play.
- El-Amin would score his 15th point of the contest to push MSUM's lead to 19 points with nine minutes remaining.
- Bemidji State would put together one final run, getting the score within 10 points with just over three minutes left.
- Beeninga and Hastreiter would quickly stomp out the Beaver burst, drilling three-pointers to stretch MSUM's lead back to 18 points.
- Moorhead would claim an 85-65 victory behind El-Amin's 15 points.
- Jenkins was also effective all evening, scoring 12 points on 60 percent shooting.
